FALL FUN !!!!!!!!!

On Nov. 12, I helped plant a prairie. I planted rattlesnake master and rosinweed. How did we get hooked up? My Spanish teacher is a Cam-Rock volunteer. We planted on a corn field. The cornfield was chopped and harvested. All I had to do was sprinkle the seeds. The prairie I planted is a part of Cam-Rock Park 3. Cam-Rock means Cambridge and Rockdale. The parks are in-between the towns.

WE NEED YOUR HELP. E-mail us on what should we type next.

Thanks, Bunny

FALL FUN

Yesterday we went to plant a prairie. It was a huge cornfield where the corn had been chopped off. I got a bag full of seeds. I twirled, spun, jumped and skipped as I threw the seeds. So when they become flowers, they will have my signature in the flowers. I thought that would be cool.

P.S. PLEASE GIVE IDEAS FOR MY BLOG. Thank you.

I Love You Autumn

I love my little sister Autumn. She is so cute. I love it when mom says, "Do you want to get Autumn up from her nap?" I run upstairs and pick her up. Her eyes glow when she looks at me. She makes me giggle. She is very alert. When she has a dirty diaper, she screams her lungs out. She is a very happy baby and she loves my Grammy and Aunt Terryl.

Art All Around the World

I am now going to an art class (because my mom is not real artsy.) My teacher is about 20 something. Her name is Helen. She was a missionary. She has been all over the world. When we were sitting in her sitting room, we saw things from Russia, England and Africa. She has been living in England almost her whole life. She couldn't help us draw the American flag because she could not remember what it looked like. When we were drawing, she put on African music. It was really cool. She is fun, energetic, friendly, artistic and a really good art teacher.

Autumn in summer

I am now a big sister to 4. My mom had her baby. It's a girl named Autumn Elizabeth. Autumn was born on Sept. 15, 2009. My mom and dad say Autumn looks the most like me. Her nickname is Peanut. We have been given food every night from people from church. Dad said he would have another baby just for that (I hope he is joking.) Last night we got a french dessert called Creme Brule`. It was good. I got to rearrange my mom and dad's room so Autumn could sleep in there. It was fun. When Autumn is 5, I will be 16. I love Autumn.

Finally its come

My mom had her her baby. Her name is Autumn Elizabeth. She is a girl, just what I wanted. She is so cute. Our church family is very nice, too. They give us meals because it's hard for my mom to cook and feed the baby girl. Her nickname is Peanut.

Talk about reality

It has felt weird having a baby. I do not feel like we are having a baby. Then again, when I see mom it must be true. I have decided to give the baby a rubber duck and cute little teddy bear. I can not wait until the baby is born. The baby will sleep in the boy's room because they have more space in there room.

Bunny's Heartwood report

For 2 years in a row, all my Dad's family have gone to Heartwood. It is a really nice place. All 5 families rent a cabin. The cabins are in a row overlooking a lake. The cabins are nice, other than they are all identical and I got did not know which cabin I was in. They have tubing trips and canoe trips, a 3 hour trip and a 6 hour trip. I went on the 3 hour canoe trip. The water was too cold for tubing. On the beach there are kayaks that anyone can use. I kayaked across the lake 3 times; once, towing another kayak. On the lake there was a water trampoline with a slide that was fun to jump on. We saw a wedding while we were swimming.

Last year we went there for my Grammy and Poppop's 50th wedding anniversary. This year something funny happened. A woman from my Grammy's work and her family were going there too. We were going to have a big kickball game against them, but they did not show up. In the picture, you can see me and my cousins in the kickball uniforms that we made. We had a lot of fun making them and even though the people didn't make it, we had fun playing by ourselves. My friend Brianna has a hamster, so she watched Cinnamon. I love Heartwood.

Heartwood

Something. Anything. I had to think of something to write about and then I had remembered what my Grandma said. She said, "Please write about Heartwood." And so I will.

Heartwood is near Spooner. We were in a cabin with my Dad's side of the family. We got home yesterday. We had fun. We kayaked, jumped on the water trampoline, canoed, made t-shirts (for a kickball game that the other players did not show up for), fished, listened to music, didn't do school, played Wii and ping pong and had an auction. We were at Heartwood for 5 days. I want to go next year.

My Second Job

While I was walking Molly, Mrs. S said "I am going on a vacation. Can you water my flowers?"

I said, "Where are you going ?"

She said, "We might go to Heartwood."

I said," My Dad's side of the family and I are going to Heartwood too."

She said, "We might see you there"

I said, "Yes, we might see you there and I can water your flowers."

Then, Mrs C came over one day. She asked if I could water her flowers. My sister asked why I needed to water the flowers. And she said, "Because my son is going to play baseball near the Hall of Fame."

So, I said, "Yes, I can water your flowers."

And so now, I get on my scooter, go to Mrs. C's house, water flowers, zoom on my scooter to Mrs. S's house, water her flowers and by the time I get home, I am soaking wet.

Vinnie and Cinnamon not best freinds

Vinnie is my cousin's dog. Vinnie is a Meekee. Cinnamon is my hamster. Cinnamon is a fancy short-haired hamster. Vinnie came over for dinner (with his family) for my Dad's birthday. Vinnie wandered upstairs and my Aunt T. put him beside Cinnamon's cage. Vinnie went nuts! He looked at my aunt as if to say, "What is that thing? Help me catch him!" We were all laughing. They looked so funny. Cinnamon, running in his wheel as if nothing was happening, and Vinnie, barking and pawing at Cinnamon's cage.

My aunt had earlier held Cinnamon (while Vinnie watched from behind the slider window.) When we opened the porch door, Vinnie stared sniffing everywhere, looking for Cinnamon. My aunt told us that they had once teased Vinnie by picking up one of Vinnie's toys and pretending to love it. When they set it on the ground, Vinnie pounced on it.

Vinnie looks like Cinnamon. They are both white with tan spots, but they are not best friends.

Dear Edwina

My "Dear Edwina" show was fun. I was a rollerskater and a cheerleader. Mrs. S. helped me with my costume. I did my show through the 3-D Family Theater. I was also in the show "Twinderella," but Dear Edwina was my favorite show. It was about a girl who wants to be in the Advice-a-Palooza Festival. All her friends sing songs and she answers them in a song. IT WAS FUN! Other people I knew there were : Regan, Danielle, Sierra, Henry, Nellie, Carol (she has dreadlocks), Emily and lots more.

Cinnamon's Jail Break

I have had Cinnamon for 4 weeks. Cinnamon is doing great. I came up with the idea of giving Cinnamon toilet paper rolls. He loves running through them. I take Cinnamon in a pink toy dog carrier outside and let him run around. But, I have to watch him carefully.
My dad does not like cinnamon on the carpet. [He thinks it makes the carpet dirty.]
Did you know that hamsters can go through anything they can get their head through? Today I woke up and heard Cinnamon's wheel turning.
''What? I thought I took Cinnamon's wheel out last night!'' I looked and saw the lid off his cage and Cinnamon was not in his cage. I looked at his wheel (beside his cage) and saw Cinnamon running in it! After a small chase, I got Cinnamon back in his cage. I now know that I left Cinnamon's cage lid off last night and around 6:55 a.m. Cinnamon climbed out to run in his favorite wheel.

My new computer

My mom and I were going to the Farmer's Market and saw an estate sale sign. We stopped there. It was an old farm house. It was very, very old and dirty. We walked inside and I saw a black typewriter. I asked the lady who owned the sale how much it was. She and a few other old ladies laughed.

I wanted the typewriter because it was antique and it was an old computer. It reminded me of the American Girl Kit Kitteredge because she had one. And, I look like her. Blond hair. Blue eyes. Freckles over the nose. Loves adventure. And is responsible.

The lady said, "$7.00." I told my mom it was seven dollars. She said I could get it. It is an Underwood. It is black and you can change the color of the ink/ribbon. It can change to be black, red, and navy blue.

It is in my room on a wooden desk. I have made 20 articles.

The Last Day of My First Job

How I got started walking Molly...

It all started when our neighbor Mrs. C was at our house and mentioned Mrs. S having a broken hip. Mrs. S's dog, Molly, needed walking while she recovered.

That turned into my first job...walking Molly 5 times a week. I walk her because her owner has a full-time teaching job in Fort Atkinson. It is fun walking Molly. Last Tuesday was my last day. I hope I can walk Molly in the fall. Molly is an English cocker spaniel. Molly is strong. And she's deaf.

Her owner left me a letter once and it said, "Did you know that Molly sleeps by the door on the weekends when you don't walk her?" I thought that was cute. I love walking Molly.

Garage sale! I am having a garage sale! Some of you got the cards I made for you for Christmas. You did not know that all winter I made cards that I am going to sell at the garage sale. But, I have a problem. How much should I sell the cards for? Please look at the picture and then put in the comment box how much you would pay for one of them. I am also selling MONSTER cookies. Last year they were a big hit! One person kept coming back to buy more and more cookies.

Meet Tucker

I would like you to meet Tucker. Tucker is the dog I walk about 3 times a week. I think Tucker is a Shih-poo/Teddy Bear mix. He is really smart. Yesterday he somehow got out of his house by himself. My last day walking Tucker for the summer is next Tuesday. I will miss walking him. Here is something I wrote about Tucker a few months ago.

Tucker is a puppy.
I have a dog walking business. I walk a puppy whose name is Tucker. Tucker is white, little, furry and cute. Tucker is fun to play with. Tucker’s owner’s name is Mrs. C. She is very tall.
You know how some owners look like their dogs or puppies? Well, Tucker has short curly hair and Mrs. C. has short, curly, brown hair too. Tucker is always sleeping on the couch or in his bed when I get him for his walk. Tucker is a happy puppy.

What I’ve learned…
* It is important to be on-time.
* It is really important to shut the door, because they also have a cat.
* It is important to keep the dog’s water bowl full.
* Tucker enjoys walking, not running.
* Tucker likes to annoy cats.
* The C. family leaves lights and TVs on in their house when no one is home! Once, there were 6 lights and 2 TVs on. Mrs. C. told me to turn them off if they were left on, so I did.

My New Best Friend...Cinnamon

Some of you know that my dad does not like animals.

Some of you did not know that I got a hamster for my birthday.

I convinced my dad and I got myself a hamster [after telling my dad I would be paying for everything and completely taking care of him.] So I got my first pet... a hamster named Cinnamon. Cinnamon is a boy. Cinnamon’s middle name is Starburst. So his full name is Cinnamon Starburst H. He loves to run in the blue wheel I got him. He is white and brown. I got him on the 30th of May. Cinnamon is a Fancy Short Hair hamster. I have enclosed a picture of him. I can not wait for you all to meet him.

Your niece, grandchild and cousin, Bunny

P.S. Some of you gave me birthday money. That money went toward Cinnamon. Thanks.

Roots and Shoots?

Why are we blogging?

I need to become more tech-savvy and I thought the kids could use the blog format to communicate with their extended family.

Why the name Roots and Shoots?

That name describes the primary activity that takes place at our home:

Roots represent ... what we are striving to promote and encourage in our family...a strong family foundation with strong family relationships, rooted in love for God and love for each other....roots represent the spiritual foundation we are striving to build, which is deeply rooted in the Word of God.....roots represent the activities within the walls of our home.

Shoots represent... the outward expression of our lives in our neighborhood, in the greater community and beyond...ideally, the activities we talk about should represent how we are training our children, in various ways, to one day leave "our garden" and become caretakers of their own garden someday.

So, Welcome to our Garden ~
where we are developing
strong, healthy Roots
and meaningful Shoots!
